Bowring Cartographic has been providing quality custom mapmaking services since 1976, for a wide variety of clients in the publishing industry, business community, and government. We can provide a complete range of in-house capabilities including research, design, compilation, and production of camera-ready art, press-ready negatives, monochrome or full-color proofs, and large-format output. An extensive library of base art and reference materials is maintained to facilitate production. In addition, we have immediate access to the wealth of informational resources available in the Washington, D.C. area..

In the production of a typical map, source documents -- either provided by the client, or derived from our own files and research efforts -- are either scanned, or converted from other digital file formats (we can accept virtually any vector or raster digital file, including GIS formats). Most production work is carried out using Macromedia FreeHand software on state-of-the-art Macintosh computer platforms. Output of almost any size can be delivered as high-resolution monochrome or color prints, or as press-ready film negative separations.
